Whether you are looking to change direction, update your skills or simply undertake some learning for pleasure, Birmingham MET will have a course for you. We realise that our adult learners have many demands on their time, and for this reason, we offer flexible part-time and short courses during the day and evening and on Saturdays.
Having the skills for employment is more important now than ever before. Our programmes focus on the skills required by local employers and you will gain qualifications which meet their needs. Studying is one of the best investments you can make in your future.
Our tutors are approachable, interested in you and full of enthusiasm for the subjects they teach. We will work with you to ensure that the choices you make will help you develop new skills and achieve qualifications to fulfil your interests, talents or career ambitions. We will do everything we can to make sure you benefit from an enjoyable and successful learning experience.

Some of our courses are free and some offer free tuition to qualifying applicants. For example if you dont already have a level 2 qualification (equivalent to 5 GCSEs) or a full Level 3 qualification (for under 25’s) (equivalent to 2 A Levels) the tuition fees will be free.
We also provide free tuition for learners aged 19+ who have been unemployed for six months or more. There may also be funding if you are unemployed and if you are considering full-time study, you may be eligible for the Adult Learning Grant.

The College has a team of advisors to help you find the right course. We can help you make an informed choice based on accurate information. Want to go to university and study for a degree?
You may need to take a qualification before you can get onto a university degree or other higher education course. Our Access courses are good options to help you to go to university. We have a range of higher education courses full or part time to provide flexible options for you to study. Our Higher Education programmes are linked to a number of prestigious universities.
