This programme is designed to help the delegates understand the principles of learning and the role of a coach in enabling and developing individual learning.

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

- Identify the skills required in terms of coaching
- Identify training needs
- Plan for coaching opportunities
- Identify opportunities to learn and apply learning
- Identify best methods for learning
- Understand different learning styles
- The relationship and links between learning and coaching
- Recognise barriers to learning
- Overcome barriers to learning
- Provide effective feedback
- Encourage learners to review themselves
- Check understanding and progress

Entry Requirements
People who have been identified as “coach” but need knowledge of the skills and attributes required to be effective in this area.
Delivery & Assessment methods
No formal assessment; Course Length: 1 day. Although this programme can be delivered in 1 day, it is recognised that there is a lot to cover. Accordingly it is available as a 2-day programme, which allows more time for reflection and practice.
