Course Overview

The courses are for people who are permanently living or intend to settle in the UK (you must have settled status), including asylum seekers and refugees. It is a general English course designed to help you improve in all four skills.
You will have a regular tutorial and you will work with your tutor on your personal learning targets.

Pre-entry, entry level 1, entry level 2, entry level 3, Level 1 and level 2 campus/locations (Erdington Skills Centre, Language Centre, Matthew Boulton, Sutton Coldfield, James Watt, Central Library, Saathi House, Aston Mobile Bus. Awarding Bodies: Edexcel & Trinity College London

Entry Requirements

Before starting the course we will ask you to complete an initial assessment interview. This will assess your language Level and allow us to place you on the correct course.

Delivery & Assessment methods

We believe strongly in a ccommunicative classroom and you will have the opportunity to practice English through pair work, group discussion and role plays, as well as reading and writing activities. You will have the opportunity to take exams in speaking/listening, reading and writing at three points throughout the year.

Progression

You can progress to the next level of ESOL or, subject to your English level, join a mainstream college course.
